Best Rooftop Bars In Panama

There’s been a number of rooftop bars opening over the past few years and Panama City’s tropical climate creates the perfect environment for them. Check out these places and enjoy the spectacular views and beautiful people.

Casa Casco

Casa Casco is one of the current hotspots in Panama City at the moment. The building features three different restaurants, a nightclub, and a beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the historic district. My advice is to head up here at 6 pm for a spectacular view of the sunset. Located at Ave A & Calle 10B Oeste, Casco Viejo.

1400 Rooftop

The 1400 rooftop is located on the top floor of the Occidental Hotel and probably has one of the best happy hours in Panama City. From Wednesday to Saturday you can enjoy open margaritas for only $10 from 6 pm – 9 pm. They also have an insane ladies night special on Thursdays and ladies drink free from 9 pm to midnight. Located on Ave Samuel Lewis & Ave Ricardo Arango, Obarrio.

Tantalo

Tantalo was the first rooftop bar in Casco Viejo and it’s still one of the best. The hipster stringed lights and view of the modern Panama City skyline is the perfect ambiance to sip on a passion fruit mojito. There’s also something going on almost every night of the week like live art on Tuesday, latin music on Wednesday, ladies night on Thursday, and a mix of music on the weekend. Located on Ave B & Calle 8a Este, Casco Viejo.

360 Rooftop

The 360 Rooftop is one of the newer rooftops on the block. If you head there after work you can make it for their 2 x 1 happy hour between 5 pm and 8 pm. Located on Plaza de La Independencia & Calle 7a Este, Casco Viejo.

Panaviera

The Panaviera is located on the 66th floor of the Ocean Sun Casino within Trump Ocean Club and has the best view of a city sunset. As you walk in, the doors open to an over the top infinity pool flowing over the cityscape. The rooftop opens at 6 pm and I recommend arriving at that time to catch the last glimpse of the sun going down over the hills. If you go from Wednesday to Sunday they do however require you to consume $20 in food or drinks so that is something to be aware of. Located on Calle Punta Chiriqui, Trump Ocean Club, Punta Pacifica.

Lazotea

Lazotea is located on the rooftop of Hotel Casa Panama and boasts great ocean and city views. It’s an ideal place to have dinner & drinks before heading out to one of the more rowdy places in Casco Viejo to party. Located on Ave Eloy Alfaro & Calle 11 Este, Casco Viejo.

Barlovento

The tropical chic ambiance of Barlovento makes is an ideal spot to sip on cocktails in a relaxing environment. Be sure to stop by from 6 pm – 9 pm on Monday – Friday for their happy hour cocktails! Located on Ave Central & Calle 10 Oeste above Zaza, Casco Viejo.

The Roof

The Roof is located in Panama City’s eclectic Via Argentina neighborhood and offers a great central view of the city. Stop by on Thursdays and enjoy 2 x 1 on local beers. Located on Calle Gasper O. Hernandez & Via Argentina, top floor of the Best Western Hotel.

Central Gastrobar

Central Gastobar features an oceanfront rooftop with a killer view of the Panama City skyline. It’s the type of place to share gourmet tapas and gin tonics with good friends. Located on Calle 8a Este & Ave Eloy Alfaro.

Gatto Blanco

This intimate rooftop is one of my favorites in Casco Viejo. It’s not overly fancy or pretentious and they always have good electronic house music playing if you’re into that. Located on Ave B & Calle 8a Este, Casco Viejo.

BITS

Stands for Bar In The Sky and they aren’t joking. It’s located 62 floors above Panama City at the Hard Rock Hotel and has a birds eye view of Panama City. Let’s just say you’ll feel your ears start to pop as you go up the elevator. The entire bar is surrounded by glass walls that let you take in the amazing city views. The downside to this bar is they don’t open until 8 pm so you miss the sunset and they often charge a $20 entrance fee. Located on Ave Balboa.
